The U11 team’s first match of the season (due to be played at Castle Park last night) was unfortunately called off because opponents Witham were unable to put up a team. Not wanting to miss an opportunity to play, however, the boys teamed up with the girls in a friendly inter-squad match.

Playing pairs cricket, there was a lot of new talent on show. Focusing on carrying through learning from last week’s training, there was some great backing up in the field, tight bowling resulting in plenty of wickets, and well-timed shots placed all around the ground. Moving forward, the team is keen to keep improving their running between the wickets, and their communication with each other.

Many thanks to the parents who braved the chilly weather to support their children - a good sign for the future of the club! Next up is Coggeshall, Away on Friday 12 May.
